A copier/printer consumables manufacturer in Egypt was seeking an efficient grinding solution for producing high-quality black toner powder. Carbon toner ultrafine grinding plays a critical role in toner production, as toner has extremely strict requirements for particle size distribution uniformity, which directly affects printing resolution and color density.

- Strict particle size control: The target particle size must be maintained at D50: 5–7 μm, with a narrow particle size distribution.
- Temperature control: Toner is a heat-sensitive material; frictional heat during grinding can easily cause melting or agglomeration.
- Stable capacity: The target production capacity must remain stable at 50–70 kg/h.

To meet these requirements, the MQW Series Fluidized Bed Jet Mill was selected. This system uses supersonic airflow to accelerate particles, causing them to collide with each other at the center of the grinding chamber to achieve ultrafine size reduction.
Equipment Advantages and Working Principle
Jet mills offer unique advantages in carbon toner ultrafine grinding :
- Low-temperature processing: The adiabatic expansion of compressed gas at the nozzles produces a cooling effect, effectively offsetting the heat generated during grinding and protecting the physical properties of the toner.
- Integrated high-precision classifier: The system is equipped with a built-in vertical turbo classifier. Particle size can be precisely controlled by adjusting the classifier speed.
